Rachel Rinker (they/them) (b. 1994) is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in Phoenix, Arizona who works primarily in painting, drawing, collage and printmaking. Rachel was raised in Goose Creek, South Carolina, and having spent several years living in Massachusetts, feels deeply rooted along the East Coast, U.S. Rachel attained their BFA from Clemson University in 2016, and is currently studying for their MFA in Art at Arizona State University. Interested in exploring process, pedagogy and play, notions of interconnectedness, memory, accumulation, archive and entropy are recurring themes throughout Rachel's work. Periods of rest and grounding balance energetic bursts of rhythmic, painterly movements and the unfurling of visually stimulating environments full of layered history and human connection; reflecting life as it is experienced in a nonlinear fashion - Like ever growing scrapbooks of the present moment - cyclical and always subject to change.
